Procter & Gamble has deployed free mobile laundry, shower, and personal care services in Buckhannon, West Virginia, after storms brought more than 7 inches of rain to the region. Working with Matthew 25: Ministries and Walmart, the company is offering affected households up to two loads of laundry, along with hot showers and hygiene supplies. Services began July 24 at Walmart Supercenter #2809 in Buckhannon. They are available to families affected by flooding and to first responders.

Services Available in Buckhannon

Relief teams are collecting laundry and operating shower and restroom services daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET, or until daily capacity is reached, at 100 Buckhannon Xrds. The Tide Loads of Hope mobile unit will wash, dry, and fold accepted clothing, excluding heavy bedding.

Shower trailers include private bathroom and shower units, including ADA-compliant facilities, plus a Pampers diaper-changing station. P&G is providing shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and freshly laundered towels for use on site. The units are cleaned and disinfected following each use.

Flood Response Supplies

The response follows flash flooding, mudslides, road blockages, and damage to homes, businesses, and critical infrastructure in north-central West Virginia. P&G and Matthew 25: Ministries will also distribute free personal care kits directly in affected communities.

The kits include essential personal care and cleaning products from P&G brands including Always, Bounty, Charmin, Crest, Dawn, Head & Shoulders, Mr. Clean, Olay, Old Spice, Oral-B, Pampers, Pantene, Swiffer, Tide, and Venus.

Support for Recovery

Claude Zukowski, Senior Director, Community Impact at P&G, said:

“P&G exists to serve consumers through trusted products that meet their everyday needs, and that commitment extends to times of disaster like this. By bringing our mobile laundry and shower services and essential personal care and hygiene products to communities impacted by the recent flooding in West Virginia, we can help restore a sense of comfort and routine for families and first responders so they can focus on recovery.”
