Arcwood Environmental has launched VeriFAS™, an end-to-end service for handling and destroying PFAS-containing materials. Testing led by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency at Arcwood’s hazardous waste incineration facility recorded destruction and removal efficiency of up to and greater than 99.9999%. The program included three sampling campaigns and nine labeled tests of materials including firefighting foam, concentrated waste, granular activated carbon, and ion exchange resin used in water treatment. VeriFAS combines evaluation and field services, transportation, and hazardous waste incineration under one provider.

Testing Across PFAS Materials

The EPA led the real-world testing under normal operating conditions, with participation from the Department of War. The triplicate test runs used aqueous film-forming foam, concentrated PFAS-containing waste, PFAS-laden granular activated carbon, and ion exchange resin used in water treatment.

EPA’s formal report on the testing is expected in December 2026. Arcwood has published further information on its VeriFAS PFAS solutions.

One Service For Disposal

VeriFAS is intended to support organizations removing PFAS from products, water systems, firefighting foam, and industrial processes, while addressing the disposal stage after collection. The offering draws on Arcwood’s hazardous waste management operations to provide a single route from evaluation through destruction.

HP Nanda, CEO at Arcwood Environmental, said:

“As organizations identify and remove PFAS from products, water systems, firefighting foam, and industrial processes, the challenge does not end at collection. VeriFAS™ draws on capabilities we have built over decades to provide a seamless, end-to-end solution for PFAS handling and destruction. As state and federal regulations continue to evolve, a trusted, proven partner for the entire process matters more than ever”

Documenting Destruction Performance

The launch places the EPA-led test results at the center of Arcwood’s PFAS disposal service. The company is positioning VeriFAS around documented handling, destruction, and accountability for organizations managing PFAS-containing waste streams.

Carol Roos, Chief Sustainability and Communications Officer at Arcwood Environmental, said:

“Organizations need confidence that they are managing PFAS responsibly and keeping pace with evolving regulations and stakeholder expectations. VeriFAS™ gives them greater peace of mind that PFAS destruction has been managed with the rigor, transparency, and accountability this issue demands.”
