New Jersey American Water has named David Forcinito Vice President of Operations, placing him in charge of water production, wastewater collection and field services for 3 million customers across 18 counties. Forcinito succeeds Ben Morris, who is moving to American Water as Vice President of Operations for Strategic Programs. The appointment returns Forcinito to the state utility after he served as American Water’s Vice President of Fleet from June 2024. He rejoined New Jersey American Water in April.

Statewide Operations Portfolio

Forcinito will oversee the utility’s statewide operating functions, covering water production, wastewater collection and field services. New Jersey American Water is the state’s largest regulated water utility, with approximately 875 employees serving approximately 3 million people.

Mark McDonough, president at New Jersey American Water, said:

“Dave's deep roots in New Jersey American Water's operations and his decades of hands-on leadership make him exceptionally well suited for this role. We are proud to welcome him back and look forward to the expertise and continuity he will bring to our operations team.”

More Than Three Decades

Forcinito began his career with New Jersey American Water more than 35 years ago as a project engineer. His previous positions at the utility include Operations Superintendent, Maintenance Manager, Production/Field Operations Manager, and Senior Director of South Operations.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Widener University and a Master of Science degree in water resources and environmental engineering from Villanova University. Forcinito is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of New Jersey and holds New Jersey DEP T, W, S and C operator licenses.

Operations Continuity

The appointment places an executive with experience across production, maintenance, field operations and fleet management at the head of the utility’s operating organization. Forcinito is also an active member of the American Water Works Association, the Water Environment Federation and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
