Integrated Water Services has launched the Rapid Series™ Slot Injector, a pre-engineered, skid-mounted aeration and mixing package for industrial and municipal wastewater systems. Developed by subsidiary KLa Systems, the package is designed for deployment into active treatment basins with minimal to no facility downtime. The system combines jet aeration, submersible pumps and a standardized platform intended for crane-set installation. IWS is owned by Sciens Water, an investor in U.S. and global water sectors.

Aeration Capacity Without Shutdowns

The Rapid Series Slot Injector targets facilities where added aeration capacity would normally require treatment tanks to be taken offline. IWS said the package can be deployed directly into live operating basins, avoiding the need to drain tanks or interrupt biological treatment.

The system is intended for heavy industrial users, including food and beverage processing, pulp and paper, and chemical manufacturing, as well as municipal activated sludge systems. Its slot-shaped configuration is designed to improve gas dissolution and oxygen transfer while optimizing overall energy and air demand.

Beau Johnston, Sr. VP Industrial Solutions at IWS, said:

“Wastewater operators are constantly forced to balance increasing capacity demands against the severe financial penalties of plant downtime. By integrating modular design with KLa's proven jet aeration technology, the RS Slot Injector gives facilities a definitive upgrade lever. It brings high-performance treatment online in days rather than months, allowing industrial facilities to protect their effluent quality and support higher production rates without taking their biological process offline.”

Standardized Installation Options

The Rapid Series is shipped fully assembled on a standardized skid with integrated submersible pumps. IWS said the product supports direct capital purchases as well as short- and long-term operational leasing.

Its intended uses include emergency aeration recovery, treatment capacity during infrastructure overhauls, seasonal loading spikes and pilot technology evaluations. The package is also designed to maintain mixing and dissolved oxygen levels under variable seasonal demand and production loads.

Ryan Neville, VP of Jet Aeration at KLa Systems, added:

“By packaging our core slot injector configuration into a standardized, crane-ready platform, we've eliminated the engineering timeline typically associated with jet aeration upgrades. Plants get the same industry-leading mass transfer efficiency we are known for, but in a footprint that deploys in a fraction of the time, immediately solving localized loading challenges without disrupting operations.”

A Modular Treatment Addition

For IWS, the new package extends its modular wastewater treatment and reuse portfolio with a standardized option for aeration upgrades. The Rapid Series Slot Injector provides a route for industrial and municipal operators to add oxygen transfer and mixing capacity while keeping active biological treatment processes in service.
