MagPro Introduces 1.85 MW-Class Water-Smart Chiller
MagPro AeroLev 1850 is a 1.85 MW-class, 45°C-ready air-cooled chiller for AI data centers in water-scarce, high-ambient environments.

MagPro, a joint venture between CIGU Technology Corp. Ltd. and EPG Data Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., has introduced the AeroLev 1850, a 1.85 MW-class air-cooled chiller for AI data centers in high-temperature, water-scarce locations. The 45°C-ready platform uses a cooling-tower-free design and eliminates evaporative cooling water. MagPro reports up to 40% higher overall energy efficiency and up to 8% lower failure rates compared with conventional oil-lubricated compressors, and up to 10% lower maintenance costs compared with conventional chillers. The AeroLev 1850 also supplies chilled water at temperatures up to 45°C for direct-to-chip and immersion cooling systems.
Cooling Without Evaporative Water
The AeroLev 1850 combines an air-cooled configuration, oil-free magnetic-levitation compressor and intelligent controls. By removing evaporative cooling water from the system, the platform is intended to reduce a key operating constraint for data centers in arid and water-stressed regions.
The air-cooled magnetic-levitation compressor has isentropic efficiency of up to 87%, while a patented condenser provides more than 3°C of subcooling. Standard EC fans are also part of the system’s energy performance design.
William Wu, General Manager at Nanjing CIPU Technology Co., Ltd., said:
“As water constraints become a defining consideration for data-center development, AeroLev 1850 advances a resilient model for AI data-center cooling. It enables efficient, reliable compute growth in challenging environments while turning today’s infrastructure into long-term resilience.”
High Temperature Cooling Support
The chiller’s free-cooling capability uses ambient air during cooler periods, reducing compressor runtime, power consumption and operating costs. Its ability to provide chilled water at temperatures up to 45°C is designed for higher-temperature cooling architectures associated with direct-to-chip and immersion liquid cooling.
MagPro has built the platform as a standardized modular system, supporting rapid installation and flexible capacity expansion as AI data center requirements increase.
Alick Wan, Founder and Chairman at EPG Data Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., said:
“MagPro marks an important step in our global cooling technology strategy. By combining EPG’s engineering and delivery expertise with CIGU’s core magnetic-levitation technology, we are building resilient, resource-efficient digital infrastructure less dependent on water. AeroLev 1850 reflects our commitment to advancing green data-center infrastructure and a sustainable digital ecosystem worldwide.”
Production And Testing Capacity
MagPro operates a production base of more than 6,000 square meters and two air-cooled laboratories that can test air-cooled units of up to 2,000 kW. The joint venture develops cooling and air-conditioning systems for AI data centers, cloud operators and hyperscale facilities.
