Addium has launched the AQUALAB 5TE, combining water activity and moisture content measurement in one 60-second test. The instrument delivers accuracy of ±0.003 aw and ±0.5% moisture content reference. It succeeds the AQUALAB 3 and AQUALAB 4TE for food, pharmaceutical, and adjacent manufacturing teams. The platform combines measurement, calibration, compliance records, and cloud-connected data workflows.

Combined Measurement Platform

The AQUALAB 5TE records water activity and moisture content in one test, with the chilled-mirror accuracy AQUALAB is known for. Results can be linked to products, batches, and operators across R&D, production, and QA workflows.

Bob Agnes, CEO at Addium, said:

“For 40 years, when food companies needed to be sure their products were safe and delicious, they've used our instruments. Today, AQUALAB instruments lead the market, and with the 5TE, we've applied our passion for precision and innovation to raise the standard again.”

Calibration And Compliance Tools

The BlockSwap™ calibration system allows laboratories to replace the calibration block without sending the instrument offsite. The 5TE also includes a 7-inch glove-ready touchscreen, integrated tutorials, multi-language support, and connections for keyboards, barcode scanners, and printers.

AQUALAB 5TE succeeds the AQUALAB 3 and market-leading AQUALAB 4TE.

Its electronic records, signatures, searchable audit trails, and mirrored user controls support 21 CFR Part 11 compliance. AQUALAB Cloud automatically synchronizes readings and can issue pass or fail alerts based on product-specific thresholds.

Distributor Feedback

Thirteen global AQUALAB distributors rated the 5TE an average of 4.23 out of 5.0 during pre-launch hands-on evaluations. The instrument is now available.

Ken Ohki, CEO at METER Japan, said:

“As we disassembled the instruments piece by piece, every improvement revealed was a revelation. We already considered the 4TE the best in the world, but the AQUALAB 5 takes it to a new level.”
