Primo Brands has received the International Bottled Water Association’s 2026 Environmental Stewardship Award for watershed funds in Michigan, California and Texas. The company’s newest funds each began with $250,000 in funding, part of four-year commitments totaling $1 million apiece. Together, the California and Texas watersheds cover more than 8,000 square miles and serve more than 12 million residents. The award was presented at IBWA’s annual conference in Uncasville, Connecticut.

Michigan Fund Grants

Primo Brands received the award for its Ice Mountain Environmental Stewardship Fund, which has worked with local organizations in Michigan’s Muskegon River Watershed for 23 years. The latest grant round provided $78,100 to six local organizations through the Fremont Area Community Foundation.

The grants include Muskegon River Watershed Assembly work to add buffer zones and tree canopy along the Clam River, plus TrueNorth Community Services’ wetland habitat and Camp Newaygo Wetland Trail restoration following a 2024 brushfire.

Charles Fogg, Chief Sustainability Officer at Primo Brands, said:

“Every one of our regional spring water brands comes from specific spring sources, and the health of the sources matters not just today, but to the local community for generations to come,”

Funds Expand West And South

In March 2026, the company launched Environmental Stewardship Funds for Arrowhead Mountain Spring Water in Southern California’s Santa Ana River watershed and Ozarka Texas Spring Water in the Houston region’s San Jacinto Watershed. The Inland Empire Community Foundation and Greater Houston Community Foundation administer the respective funds.

Grants can support habitat restoration, wildfire fuel reduction, groundwater resilience and flood risk management.

Greg Fox, Senior Natural Resource Manager at Primo Brands, said:

“A spring is only as healthy as the land and water around it,”

Water Replenishment Goals

The funds form part of Primo Brands’ water stewardship work across more than 80 springs, including conservation of more than 28,000 acres of recharge land. In 2025, the company replenished 400 million gallons of water locally and has set a goal of 100% water replenishment in high water-stress areas by 2035.

The recognition follows IBWA’s 2022 Environmental Stewardship Award to Primo Water Corporation, one of the two companies that combined to form Primo Brands.
