HIKMICRO has launched the AD22P acoustic leak detector for hidden leaks in pressurized water systems across indoor plumbing and outdoor areas. The device adds a dedicated outdoor sensor to the company’s AD21P platform, supporting inspections of soil, concrete, asphalt, and paving as well as pipes concealed in floors and walls. It has a 7-inch touchscreen, a frequency range of 200 to 16,000 Hz, 1.2 m drop protection, and an operating range from -10°C to +50°C. HIKMICRO is positioning the unit for household users, plumbers, facility teams, property maintenance professionals, and leak detection specialists serving residential and small commercial properties.

Indoor And Outdoor Sensors

The industrial water leak detection product uses separate sensors for different inspection environments. Its high-sensitivity indoor sensor is designed for pipework behind walls and beneath floors, while the three-point outdoor sensor is intended to maintain contact across ground and paved surfaces.

The company said the configuration allows users to select a sensor based on the inspection environment, rather than pipe location. The AD22P is intended to reduce the time and cost of unnecessary excavation work when locating concealed leaks.

Signal Analysis And Workflow

For indoor work, the AD22P uses HIKMICRO’s SuperDetect intelligent leak detection algorithm to analyze acoustic signatures and distinguish genuine leak sounds from background noise. The device offers a quick inspection mode for screening suspected areas and a detailed inspection mode for multi-point comparisons intended to narrow down leak locations.

The display presents sound intensity, waveforms, and inspection results for field use. The 16,000 Hz upper frequency limit is available in indoor mode.

Stefan Li, Overseas General Manager at HIKMICRO, said:

“The AD22P reflects our commitment to making advanced acoustic inspection technology more versatile by extending leak detection from indoor plumbing to outdoor areas of residential and small commercial properties. We are also combining smart leak detection, optimized signal capture, flexible inspection workflow, and clear and efficient operation to help users locate hidden water leaks faster and with greater confidence - all while reducing unnecessary repair costs.”

Configuration Options

The AD22P is available as a complete indoor and outdoor solution, or in dedicated indoor and outdoor versions. HIKMICRO said the options allow users to select a configuration suited to their application and budget.
