MediSun Energy has secured global distribution rights for the SBR-AGS municipal wastewater technology developed by Guangdong Beijing Enterprises Shixi Technology Co., Ltd., including exclusive rights in Malaysia and strategic cooperation in Saudi Arabia. The modular treatment lineup includes 5,000 cubic meter per day units assembled in 15 to 35 days and units handling up to 50,000 cubic meters per day deployed in 60 to 90 days. Working on joint plant design, MediSun Energy will provide in-market engineering support to localize plant designs for regional environmental standards, civil constraints, and municipal utility interfaces. The agreement targets municipal utilities and industrial parks seeking decentralized wastewater capacity.

Modular Treatment Capacity

The companies will combine SBR-AGS biological treatment with standardized modular engineering formats. Their stated focus is on land constraints, construction schedules, energy use, and nutrient discharge requirements facing municipal wastewater projects.

The compact honeycomb system is designed for permanent municipal applications at a 5,000 cubic meter per day module scale. It uses a prefabricated hexagonal weathering steel structure and is specified to achieve total nitrogen removal of up to 85% and biological phosphorus removal exceeding 90%.

For larger projects, the modular wastewater treatment complexes are designed to handle up to 50,000 cubic meters per day per unit. The configuration integrates biochemical treatment, magnetic flocculation, and UV disinfection within a footprint of 0.2 square meters per cubic meter.

Engineering Support in Key Markets

The agreement gives MediSun Energy exclusive distribution rights in Malaysia, while the companies will cooperate strategically in Saudi Arabia. MediSun Energy’s role includes localizing plant designs for applicable standards and site conditions.

Joseph Chua, President & Co-Founder of MediSun Planet Pte Ltd, stated:

“Municipalities across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and globally are seeking immediate, scalable solutions to expand wastewater treatment capacity while meeting aggressive decarbonization and footprint goals. Traditional concrete construction can no longer keep pace with rapid urbanization. By leading the engineering and plant design alongside Guangdong Beijing Enterprises Shixi Technology—and leveraging their massive plant management expertise as one of the world's top three water environmental leaders—we are delivering a game-changing, plug-and-play pathway that turns years of civil construction into weeks of modular deployment across key markets like Malaysia and Saudi Arabia.”

Efficiency and Deployment Targets

The large-scale units are specified to deliver energy savings of 30% to 50% and capital cost reductions of 10% to 20%. The companies position the systems as a route to low-carbon, space-efficient wastewater management for municipal and industrial applications.

Junfang Zhou, General Manager of Guangdong Beijing Enterprises Shixi Technology Co., Ltd., added:

“Guangdong Beijing Enterprises Shixi Technology Co., Ltd. has consistently set global benchmarks in biological wastewater treatment and large-scale plant operations. Partnering closely with MediSun Energy allows us to combine our deep operational heritage, world-class SBR-AGS technological legacy, and plant management experience with MediSun's agile plant design, engineering strength, and expanding global market presence. Together, we are redefining modern water infrastructure with low-carbon, highly efficient modular plants engineered for the future.”

Commercial Rollout

The distributorship is intended to support the commercial rollout of decentralized municipal wastewater infrastructure worldwide. It combines MediSun Energy’s plant design and engineering role with Guangdong Beijing Enterprises Shixi Technology’s wastewater treatment and plant operations experience.
