WACO Completes Tokyo Trial of Redesigned ATLAS
WACO Corp. completed a Tokyo proof of concept for its ATLAS smart public water refill station at two Shinjuku supermarkets.

WACO Corp. has completed a proof of concept for its redesigned ATLAS smart public water refill station at two supermarkets in Shinjuku, Tokyo. The units were installed in November 2025, allowing consumers to use the stations in commercial settings and provide feedback through interviews and surveys. WACO reported positive ratings for design, water taste, temperature, and purification reliability. The company exports water purification products to more than 70 countries and plans to commercialize ATLAS in Japan.
Tokyo Supermarket Trial
The trial tested ATLAS in active retail locations rather than as an exhibition. WACO said consumer feedback indicated trust in the station’s purification performance and positive responses to the drinking experience.
The redesign gives the unit an exterior intended for public spaces, moving the product beyond a conventional water dispenser toward a public water system with connected management functions.
Purification And Refill Features
ATLAS supplies ambient and cold drinking water through a multi-stage purification system. The station includes UV LED hygiene controls, tumbler washing and sterilization functions, and refill capacity for personal tumblers and reusable containers.
Its smart management functions include IoT-based product status monitoring, digital signage and maintenance features for public facility operators.
Japanese Market Plans
WACO plans to accelerate commercialization of ATLAS in Japan following the Tokyo trial. The company also intends to pursue deployment opportunities in global markets as it expands from residential and commercial purifiers into public drinking water and smart water infrastructure.
