Fiberscope has added a 36-month warranty and mechanical durability upgrades to its TROGLOTREK sewer crawler. The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship for three years from the purchase date, subject to the manufacturer’s terms and exclusions. This gives municipal, utility, and industrial teams a predictable service window for lifecycle planning. The battery-powered system supports portable, single-operator inspections with a 984-foot, or 300-meter, tether reel. The crawler and camera head are rated IP68, while its machined-metal control unit carries an IP67 rating for wet environments.

Inspection Range And Controls

TROGLOTREK is a steerable crawler designed to operate without a generator or external AC power at the access point. Depending on configuration, it centers in pipes from 4 to 39 inches, or 100 to 990 millimeters. An optional Large Wheel Conversion Kit extends inspection capability to pipe diameters of up to 80 inches, or 2,000 millimeters.

The control platform combines steering, live video, footage counting, inclinometer and pressure-sensor data, SD card recording, and WinCan-compatible workflow support. This allows one operator to locate and document defects from a single interface.

Reel And Cable Options

The system is available with either a manual or powered tether reel. The powered version retrieves the cable automatically, reducing repetitive cable handling during longer or more frequent inspections. Fiberscope advises teams to select the reel based on inspection volume, access conditions, and typical deployment distance rather than maximum reach alone.

For access points with sharp, rough, or uneven rims, the company offers a Cable Roller separately. Its stainless-steel assembly flexes up to 90 degrees, while rollers keep the tether away from abrasive concrete or metal edges, ensuring low-friction movement.

Configuration For Field Use

The three-year warranty gives operators a defined service window for lifecycle planning, while proper setup and preventive maintenance remain part of reliable field operation. Fiberscope recommends matching wheel sets, camera position, lighting, and reporting requirements to the pipe dimensions and documentation needs of each inspection program.
